Macro- and micro-strain in GaN nanowires on Si(111)
We analyze the strain state of GaN nanowire ensembles by x-ray diffraction. The nanowires are grown by molecular beam epitaxy on a Si(111) substrate in a self-organized manner. On a macroscopic scale, the nanowires are found to be free of strain. However,

Porous silicon nanowires [PDF]
In this mini-review, we summarize recent progress in the synthesis, properties and applications of a new type of one-dimensional nanostructures-single crystalline porous silicon nanowires. The growth of porous silicon nanowires starting from both p- and n-type Si wafers with a variety of dopant concentrations can be achieved through either one-step or ...

Thermal transport in Ru and W thin films is studied using steady‐state thermoreflectance, ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopy, infrared‐visible spectroscopy, and computations. Significant Lorenz number deviations reveal strong phonon contributions, reaching 45% in Ru and 62% in W.

Perovskite Nanowire Extrusion [PDF]
The defect tolerance of halide perovskite materials has led to efficient optoelectronic devices based on thin-film geometries with unprecedented speed. Moreover, it has motivated research on perovskite nanowires because surface recombination continues to be a major obstacle in realizing efficient nanowire devices.

This study presents the BioCLEAR system, a highly transparent and conductive neural electrode array composed of silver nanowires (AgNWs) and doped PEDOT:PSS, enabling neural recordings with minimal optical artifacts. When integrated with a GRIN lens, this cost‐effective neural implant allows simultaneous electrophysiological recording and GCaMP6‐based ...

Direct Growth of Single Crystalline GaN Nanowires on Indium Tin Oxide-Coated Silica
In this work, we demonstrated the direct growth of GaN nanowires on indium tin oxide (ITO)-coated fused silica substrate. The nanowires were grown catalyst-free using plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy (PA-MBE).

Hybrid Superconductor-Quantum Point Contact Devices using InSb Nanowires [PDF]
Proposals for studying topological superconductivity and Majorana bound states in nanowires proximity coupled to superconductors require that transport in the nanowire is ballistic.
