Nanpu sag of the Bohai Bay basin: A transtensional fault-termination basin

Journal of Earth Science (Wuhan, China), 2011
The Nanpu (南堡) sag has previously been modeled as (1) a pull-apart basin, (2) a rift basin, without significant strike-slip deformation, and (3) a transtensional basin. We present a new model for the Nanpu sag in which the basin is a transtensional fault-termination basin.

The Characteristics and Genetic Analyses of Carbonate Reservoirs in Nanpu Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, China

Petroleum Science and Technology, 2012
Abstract In Nanpu sag, the main space type in limestone reservoirs is tectonic fracture, followed by dissolved space, including pores, cavities, and fractures; for dolomite reservoirs the main type is intercrystal space, including pores, dissolved pores, and cavities.

Origin and Source of Deep Natural Gas in Nanpu sag, Bohai Bay Basin, China

Acta Geologica Sinica, 2013
Abstract:Natural gas exploration in Nanpu sag, Bohai Bay Basin, has achieved breakthroughs in recent years, and a number of natural gas and condensate wells with high yield have been found in several structures in the beach area. Daily gas production of single wells is up to 170,000 m3, and high‐yield wells are mainly distributed in the Nanpu No.

Petroleum resources in the Nanpu sag, Bohai Bay Basin, eastern China

AAPG Bulletin, 2018
The Nanpu sag is an important secondary tectonic division of the Bohai Bay Basin and has an area of 1532 km2 (591 mi2), of which 1000 km2 (386 mi2) has been explored near Bohai. Recently, exploration has gradually shifted from continental to beach to shallow-marine settings, with significant exploration breakthroughs having occurred in the Nanpu 1, 2 ...
