IPC behaviour of some sulphonated naphthols and nitroso-naphthols

Fresenius' Zeitschrift für analytische Chemie, 1988
The ion-pair chromatographic behaviour of a naphthol and some sulpho-substituted naphthols and nitroso-naphthols is studied. Formation of the ion-pair compounds is done either by pre-extraction or during elution with long-chained quaternary alkyl- or alkylarylammonium salts.

4-Chloro-1-naphthol

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2009
Molecules of the title compound, C(10)H(7)ClO, (I), are connected by a single strong O-H...O hydrogen bond into a simple C(2) chain, which runs parallel to the c axis and is additionally stabilized by intermolecular pi-pi stacking interactions. The significance of this study lies in the comparison drawn between the crystal structure of (I) and those of

Metabolism of 1-naphthol by tyrosinase

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1985
1-Naphthol was metabolized by the polyphenol oxidase, tyrosinase, primarily to 1,2-naphthoquinone and to small amounts of 1,4-naphthoquinone as well as to covalently bound products. The inhibition of covalent binding by ethylenediamine, which reacts specifically with 1,2-naphthoquinone but not 1,4-naphthoquinone, suggested that most of the covalent ...

Contact dermatitis from Naphthol AS

Contact Dermatitis, 1990
Naphthol AS, a coupling agent in cotton dyeing, caused allergic contact dermatitis in 5 patients, sensitized from wearing a special kind of shirt. Patch tests with Naphthol AS and pieces of shirt were positive in all 5 patients. Analysis of 1 of the shirts revealed the presence of Naphthol AS.

Fungal degradation of 1-naphthol

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1972
The biological degradation of 1-naphthol was studied during growth, with replacement cultures and cell extracts of the fungus Fusarium solani. Radioactivity of 1-naphthol-1-14C disappeared partially during growth, but it was completely dissipated by cell-extract activity.

Toxicity of Irradiated 1-Naphthol

Radiation Research, 1973
Irradiation of bacteria in the presence of 1-naphthol produces a radiosensitization. The magnitude of the response is dependent upon cell concentration and type, and requires an extended incubation...

Naphthol AS-Färberei

1930

[Simultaneous determination of 1-naphthol and 2-naphthol in water by spectrofluorimetry].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2010
A simple and sensitive method for the simultaneous determination of trace amounts of 1-naphthol and 2-naphthol by fluorescence spectrofluorimetry was established based on the fact that the excitation and emission wavelengths are different between 1-naphthol and 2-naphthol.
