Computed tomography reveals multiple origins of extreme caudal vertebral pneumaticity in sauropod dinosaurs

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Here, we present novel CT scan data of caudal vertebrae of six Middle–Late Jurassic sauropods, representing several eusauropod lineages. We synthesise these new data with a comprehensive critical appraisal of purported external and internal evidence for caudal vertebral PSP in Sauropodomorpha.

Functional morphology and biomechanics of the locomotor apparatus in the large Late Triassic carnivore Postosuchus kirkpatricki (Archosauria: Rauisuchidae)

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
A three‐dimensional model is used to analyze the locomotor biomechanics of the large Late Triassic archosaurian reptile Postosuchus kirkpatricki. The study finds that it is more uncertain than previously concluded whether it was quadrupedal or bipedal, and plantigrade or digitigrade, but it clearly had locomotor specializations including large hindlimb

Effect of material, prosthesis height, and aging on the fracture strength of additively and subtractively manufactured implant‐supported cantilevered prostheses

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to evaluate the inherent and after cyclic loading fracture strength of implant‐supported cantilevered fixed prostheses fabricated from recently introduced additively manufactured (AM) and subtractively manufactured (SM) materials, considering variations in prosthesis height.

Theodor Steinbüchel's Great Figures of Christian Humanism

open access: yesModern Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract Theodor Steinbüchel (1888–1949) offers a study of eight figures in Western history who may be regarded as gestalts of Christian Humanism. He argued that none of these eight figures will ever return in the same way, but since there was an eternal conception of Christianity to which their ethos gave human form, each of these gestalts can be ...
