The perils of a coherent narrative

open access: yesEconomic Theory
A persuader influences a decision maker by providing a narrative for interpreting upcoming news. The decision maker adopts the narrative if it does not distort the marginal distribution of news. Both parties can benefit if the persuader can provide news-contingent (overall incoherent) narratives, privately learn the truth, or design the process of news

Unveiling a Hidden Conversion Pathway in CoSe2 Anodes via Rationally Designed CNT‐Interwoven Hollow Carbon Microclusters for High‐Performance Potassium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rational architectural design of hierarchical, CNT‐interwoven hollow carbon microclusters unlocks and stabilizes a unique monoclinic Co3Se4‐mediated conversion–insertion pathway for potassium storage. This structural confinement effectively guides the reaction kinetics and accommodates severe mechanical strain.

Front‐Loading Zn2+ via Lattice‐Breathing‐Enabled Early‐Stage Co‐Intercalation for Ultrastable Zn‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces In3+ into δ‐MnO2 to create a lattice breathing effect via a dynamic strain field, which establishes efficient ″ polaronic superhighways″ for charge transport. We uncover an unconventional two‐stage (Zn2+/H+ co‐insertion followed by Zn2+‐dominant) mechanism that enables reversible structural adjustment. This approach simultaneously

Halide Perovskite: A Rich Source of Thermal Insulator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Halide perovskites exhibit ultralow thermal conductivity driven by intrinsic lattice softness and strong anharmonicity, falling below conventional defect‐engineering limits. Weak metavalent bonding, A‐site rattling, and dynamic octahedral tilting drive phonon scattering to the Ioffe–Regel limit, where wave‐like tunneling replaces particle‐like ...

Multiscale Modelling of the Electrocatalysis of Microenzymes: Insights Into the Performance of Microperoxidase at an Aqueous/Graphene Interface and Their Exploitation to Improve Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel multiscale MD/DFT framework to elucidate microenzyme adsorption and electron transfer is reported. This method reveals distinct configurations for microperoxidase‐11 on graphene and those best suited for electron transfer. Rate constants align with the limited experimental data, establishing this framework as a tool for optimizing microenzyme ...

PERCEPTION OF COHERENCE IN CONTEMPORARY SHORT FICTION

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Moldaviae: Stiinte Umanistice, 2015
Coherence is one of the basic structural and pragmatic principles of textual organization. Contemporary literary narratives display a range of strategies and narrative techniques that defy the canons of coherence and preclude the comprehension of the ...

Narrative Coherence and Distributed Authorship in Nineteen Eighty-Four and 1 the Road: A Comparative Case Study

open access: yesDialogica
Generative text systems challenge established accounts of literary authorship, creative agency, and communicative intentionality. This qualitative comparative case study examines selected passages from George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four (2003) and Ross

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.
