Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

The Subaru COSMOS 20: Subaru Optical Imaging of the HST COSMOS Field with 20 Filters

open access: yes, 2015
We present both the observations and the data reduction procedures of the Subaru COSMOS 20 project that is an optical imaging survey of the HST COSMOS field, carried out by using Suprime-Cam on the Subaru Telescope with the following 20 optical filters ...

Novel Tailoring of Ternary ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 Nanocomposite Heterojunction and Its Tunable Electrochemical Properties With Enhanced Photocatalytic Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...

Intrathoracic amyloid tumors that presented as yellowish multinodular endobronchial protrusions with irregular vascularity and easy bleeding

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2019
Immunoglobulin light‐chain (AL) amyloidosis is a monoclonal plasma cell neoplasm that has a tendency to bleed easily. However, the potential risks of transbronchial biopsy in such cases have not been fully proven.

The role of intraoperative narrow-band imaging in transoral laser microsurgery for early and moderately advanced glottic cancer

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2019
Introduction: Trans-oral laser microsurgery is an established technique for the treatment of early and moderately advanced laryngeal cancer. Objective: The authors intend to test the usefulness of narrow-band imaging in the intraoperative assessment of ...

Narrow band imaging and long slit spectroscopy of UGC 5101 [PDF]

open access: yes
UGC 5101 (z = 0.04; D is approximately equal to 240 Mpc) is one of the so called Ultraluminous IRAS sources. Two important properties of the members of this group are their L(sub IR) is greater than or equal to 10(exp 12) solar luminosity, and their ...

Large Cosmic Variance in the Clustering Properties of Lyman Alpha Emitters at z~5

open access: yes, 2004
We reported in a previous paper the discovery of large-scale structure of Lyman Alpha emitters (LAEs) at z=4.86+-0.03 with a projected size of 20 Mpc x 50 Mpc in narrow-band data of a 25' x 45' area of the Subaru Deep Field (Omega_0=0.3, lambda_0=0.7, H0=

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Colour analysis of degraded parchment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Multispectral imaging was employed to collect data on the degradation of an 18th century parchment by a series of physical and chemical treatments. Each sample was photographed before and after treatment by a monochrome digital camera with 21 narrow-band
