Integrated-optic, narrow-linewidth laser

Applied Physics Letters, 1986
We report the demonstration of the single-frequency and narrow-linewidth (<100 kHz) operation of an extended cavity laser consisting of a Ti:LiNbO3 single-mode waveguide circuit and an InGaAsP waveguide gain medium. A parallel coupled cavity, electro-optic elements for tuning the resonant frequencies of the cavities, and an external phase ...

Tunable fiber laser with narrow linewidth

2016 Photonics North (PN), 2016
We demonstrate a narrow linewidth tunable fiber laser based on a tunable fiber Bragg grating, a linear or ring cavity fiber laser and a piece of non-pumped active fiber setup.

Progress and trend of narrow-linewidth lasers

Science China Technological Sciences, 2013
High frequency stability, narrow-linewidth lasers have been long dreamed of since the invention of the laser. They have recently developed dramatically due to the advent of optical clocks. State-of-the-art narrow-linewidth lasers have been constructed by using the Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) technique to lock the laser frequencies to the resonance of ultra-

Integrated Ultra-Narrow Linewidth Stabilized SBS Lasers

Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2022, 2022
Frequency-stabilized, spectrally-pure lasers are key to precision scientific applications including quantum, atomic clocks, and metrology. We discuss progress towards integrating aspects of these systems to the chip-scale using Si3N4 Brillouin lasers and ultra-high Q resonators.

Narrow linewidth tunable semiconductor laser

2016 Compound Semiconductor Week (CSW) [Includes 28th International Conference on Indium Phosphide & Related Materials (IPRM) & 43rd International Symposium on Compound Semiconductors (ISCS), 2016
A full-C band tunable laser equipped with an air-gap suspended waveguide structure for efficient thermal heater tuning is described. It is shown that the monolithic tunable laser can simultaneously meet the requirements for the output power, side-mode suppression ratio, and spectral linewidth for 16-QAM coherent communication system.

Narrow-linewidth stimulated Brillouin fiber laser and applications

Optics Letters, 1991
A stimulated Brillouin fiber ring laser with a spectral width of 2 kHz and an intrinsic linewidth of less than 30 Hz has been demonstrated. Applications of such a laser include laser linewidth narrowing, microwave frequency generation, high-rate amplitude modulation, and optical inertial rotation sensing.

Narrow-linewidth tunable ArF* excimer-laser source

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1981
The generation of narrow-linewidth tunable radiation from excimer lasers has been a topic of considerable investigation recently.1 Because of the short laser wavelengths generated, such sources are ideal tools for multiphoton spectroscopy in the VUV.2 Because conventional excimer lasers generally operate with broadband laser output and poor beam ...

Near Infrared Ultra-Narrow-Linewidth Laser

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2020
We report on self-injection-locked near infrared laser technology using whisper-gallery-mode resonators. The laser linewidth is suppressed by 104 and has an instantaneous linewidth in the sub-10 Hertz range. The laser is used for generating stable reference light for atomic clocks.

Narrow linewidth operation of a flashlamp-pumped dye laser

Applied Optics, 1982
The authors describe a flashlamp-pumped dye laser system that produces more photons per laser pulse than in nitrogen or Nd:YAG laser-pumped dye lasers. The system uses both a grazing incidence grating and a Littrow mounted grating in conjunction with an elliptical cavity.
