Is Perceptual Narrowing too Narrow?

Journal of Cognition and Development, 2011
There is a growing list of examples illustrating that infants are transitioning from having earlier abilities that appear more “universal,” “broadly tuned,” or “unconstrained” to having later abilities that appear more “specialized,” “narrowly tuned,” or “constrained.” Perceptual narrowing, a well-known phenomenon related to face, speech, and music ...

Narrow Content

2018
Narrow mental content, if there is such a thing, is content that is entirely determined by the goings-on inside the head of the thinker. A central topic in the philosophy of mind since the mid-1970s has been whether there is a kind of mental content that is narrow in this sense.

Narrowing the narrowing space

1997
We introduce a framework for managing as a whole the space of a narrowing computation. The aim of our framework is to find a finite representation of an infinite narrowing space. This, in turn, allows us to replace an infinite enumeration of computed answers with an equivalent finite representation. We provide a semidecidable condition for this result.

Narrow Complex Tachycardias

Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America, 1995
Narrow complex tachycardias are those cardiac rhythms with a ventricular rate of more than 100 beats per minute and a QRS complex width of less than 0.12 seconds. They originate either from the SA node, from atrial tissue itself, or from in or around the AV node. The term SVT is generally accurate for such tachycardias.

Uniform Lazy Narrowing

Journal of Logic and Computation, 2003
Summary: Needed narrowing is a complete and optimal operational principle for modern declarative languages which integrate the best features of lazy functional and logic programming. We investigate the formal relation between needed narrowing and another (not so lazy) narrowing strategy which is the basis for popular implementations of lazy functional ...

NARROW-ANGLE GLAUCOMA

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1952
I am GREATLY honored in being given the opportunity of presenting the Schoenberg Memorial Lecture. Glaucoma was one of Dr. Schoenberg's chief interests throughout his career in ophthalmology. He made many contributions to the subject and was one of the pioneers in the public-health aspect of the prevention of blindness from glaucoma.

Neglected Esophageal Narrowing

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1975
IF ONE should ask what chronic gastroenterologic problem proves most difficult to keep under optimal management, there might be many suggestions. High on the list would be the chronic esophageal lesion that has obstructing potential. The need for continuing management of this problem deserves more attention than current texts give it.
