High-resolution narrow band imaging endoscopy
Gut, 2008Oesophageal, gastric and colorectal neoplasms made up 24% of worldwide cancer mortality in 2002.1 Early detection of these neoplasms or their precursors may be the only chance to reduce this high mortality. Endoscopy is currently the initial procedure used for early detection of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers worldwide.

Duodenal haemosiderosis using narrow-band imaging
Digestive and Liver Disease, 2012A 67-year-old female patient with iron deficiency anaemia ho had been taking ferrous sulphate tablets for seven years as referred to our institution because of indigestion. Esophaogastroduodenoscopy showed tiny, diffuse, brownish spots in her uodenal bulb mucosa (Fig. 1A).

Narrow‐band imaging (NBI) is an optical digital enhancement method that allows the observation of vascular and surface structures of colorectal lesions. Its usefulness in the detection and diagnosis of colorectal polyps has been demonstrated in several clinical trials and the diagnostic algorithms have been simplified after the establishment of ...

Narrow-Band Chemical-Shift Imaging
Topical Meeting on Industrial Applications of Computed Tomography and NMR Imaging, 1984Our objective is to use a priori knowledge of the NMR signal and minimal amount of data collection to obtain a chemical-shift image. Our method differs from the standard Fourier transform mapping of chemical shifts (1) in a way that allows us to reduce, often drastically, the number of observations.

Narrow Band Imaging in Barrett’s Esophagus
Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2005Barrett's esophagus is the premalignant lesion for esophageal and esophagogastric junction adenocarcinoma. Progression of Barrett's esophagus to dysplasia and cancer can occur, thus requiring endoscopy with random biopsy examinations. Currently, the diagnosis of metaplastic and dysplastic mucosa within the esophagus requires endoscopy with biopsy ...

Narrow Band Imaging in Borderline Ovarian Tumor
Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, 2010Fig. 1. Conventional laparoscopy using white light. Borderline ovarian tumors (BOT) comprise 15% of all epithelial ovarian neoplasms, and the outcome is much better than for women with invasive ovarian cancer [1]. The histologic study of peritoneal implants represents a crucial factor in the clinical management of patients with BOT because it ...

Narrow-Band Imaging Bronchoscopy in Tracheobronchial Amyloidosis
Journal of Bronchology & Interventional Pulmonology, 2014Primary tracheobronchial amyloidosis (TBA) is a rare disease characterized by extracellular focal or diffuse submucosal deposits of amyloid proteins. Various types of endobronchial lesions have been described in TBA when bronchoscopy is performed using white light.

Narrow band imaging cholangioscopy in hilar cholangiocarcinoma
Indian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2010Per oral cholangioscopy has been developed as a diagnostic modality for evaluation of bile duct lesions. Per oral cholangioscope with narrow band imaging (NBI) system can provide good quality images of bile duct lesions. There is limited data on per oral cholangioscopy using NBI in biliary tract diseases.

Cystoscopy and transurethral resection (TUR) using white light (WL) has been used as a standard procedure for diagnosis and treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). However, WL cystoscopy cannot always effectively identify small tumor or high grade flat lesions, carcinoma in situ (CIS). Small tumors can be frequently missed resulting in

Narrow Band High Resolution Radar Imaging
2006 IEEE Conference on Radar, 2006We present a technique for generating imagery with high spatial resolution but from low bandwidth radar transmissions. The high spatial resolution is obtained by applying the principles of tomography to a multi-site monochromatic continuous wave (CW) radar system that can illuminate the target over a complete angular range of 360 degrees.
