Narrow-band emitting phosphors are required to improve the performance of phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes. Here, we found a new narrow-band emitting phosphor Na2Cs2Sr(B9O15)2:Eu2+ using the local structure similarity with a known narrow-band ...

Modeling temperature profiles in the pedestal of NSTX with reduced models
This paper describes new modeling capabilities for predicting H-mode pedestal profiles in spherical tokamaks. Temperature profiles for NSTX discharges 132543 (narrow pedestal) and 132588 (wide pedestal, lithiated) are modeled by coupling the astra ...

High‐Efficiency Quantum Defect Generation in Carbon Nanotubes via Oxygen‐Free Photochemistry
We show that oxygen plays an important role in quantum defect formation in carbon nanotubes and identify reaction conditions to create a range of different quantum defects for photonics and biosensing. ABSTRACT Single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) offer potential for a wide range of applications from optoelectronic devices to biomedical diagnostics.

Are spicules driven by oscillations?
The formation of spicules on the solar surface is poorly understood. In the present investigation, we propose a mechanism that provides an explanation for this phenomenon.

XTRUDE: A Process‐Informed Framework for High‐Fidelity Analysis of Hydrogel Extrusion
Extrusion performance emerges from the interplay between material properties and processing conditions. XTRUDE (eXTrusion Rheology for Understanding and Defining Extrudability) recreates the extrusion environment with in situ pressure and temperature sensing, enabling characteristic pressure signatures to quantify extrusion‐specific phenomena and ...

Magnetic hyperthermia heats a brain tumor from within, using nanoparticles excited by an external alternating field, but its therapeutic margin is narrow: tissue below 42 ∘ C is untreated while tissue above 50 ∘ C is damaged. We formulate a coupled model

A graphene‐supported 2D metal–organic network stabilizes highly reactive Fe(I)‐N4 single sites through Co‐induced charge redistribution. Combined experiments and theory reveal Fe(I) formation, oxygen‐driven oxidation, and O2 activation mechanisms, offering a strategy to access low‐valent iron centers relevant to catalytic and biological processes ...

Poly(acrylic acid) acts as a reaction‐time pH buffer during hydrothermal Sb2(S,Se)3 growth through its COOH/COO‐ equilibrium. When combined with ethanol‐regulated growth, this buffering strategy reduces Sb‐O related surface disorder, improves local electronic uniformity and carrier collection, and increases the champion solar‐cell efficiency to 10.25%,
