Ambient, Bias‐Free, Green Nanoparticle Synthesis via Microdroplet‐Confined Galvanic Chemistry
Confined galvanic reactions within sprayed microdroplets drive the direct growth of metal nanoparticles on conductive surfaces under ambient conditions. Eliminating the need for external bias and thermal input, this approach offers a simple route toward more sustainable nanoparticle synthesis.

The transition of cetaceans from a terrestrial to an aquatic environment involved a crucial sensory adaptation to environments with limited visibility. Vibrissae, important mechanoreceptors, undergo an ontogenetic transformation in odontocetes. This research describes the histomorphology of vibrissae and crypts at different developmental stages ...

The Greenland–Scotland Ridge in a Changing Ocean: Time to Act?
ABSTRACT The Greenland–Scotland Ridge is a submarine mountain that rises up to 500 m below the sea surface and extends from the east coast of Greenland to the continental shelf of Iceland and across the Faroe Islands to Scotland. The ridge not only separates deeper ocean basins on either side, that is, the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans, but also ...

On the tusks of the narwhale [PDF]
Abstract The author acknowledges himself indebted to the laudable zeal of Mr. Scoresby, jun. of Whitby, for the greatest part of the information which he here lays before the Society. Although the tusk of this animal is not uncommon, its skull has very rarely been brought into this country; and hence there has been little opportunity ...

ABSTRACT Objectives The grandmother hypothesis proposes that ancestral women ceased reproduction midlife to instead provision their grandchildren. An alternative “two‐sex” account proposes that the high energetic burden of caring for slow‐developing offspring was met with biparental investment.

Revisiting the status of the Arctic's Last Ice Area as a refuge for marine predators
Abstract The Last Ice Area (LIA), located north of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago and Greenland, has the Arctic's oldest and thickest sea ice. The LIA is hypothesized to be a potential climate refuge for ice‐dependent top predators as Arctic sea ice continues to decline.

Narwhal (Monodon monoceros) detection by infrared flukeprints from aerial survey imagery
Visual and observer aerial surveys are important for monitoring wildlife populations but are subject to visibility biases where animals may go undetected.

Including Fitness and Health Proxies Can Alter Our Understanding of Habitat Selection
Habitat selection studies rarely account for fitness or health, yet our simulations show that ignoring such information can misguide management actions. Using three case studies, we demonstrate how easily health and fitness proxies can be integrated into habitat selection analyses and the added insights they provide, such as links between habitat ...

Coalition Formation for Sustainable Blockchain Governance: Insights From the Hedera Case
ABSTRACT Sustainable governance is essential for blockchain networks to achieve widespread adoption and deliver long‐term business value. Prior blockchain initiatives indicate that inadequate governance structures often lead to limited adoption or eventual project failure, underscoring the importance of decentralised governance for building resilient ...
