ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) represents a spectrum of inflammatory endotypes, driven by distinct T helper (Th) immune responses. The high rate of recurrent disease despite appropriate medical and surgical interventions highlights the need for improved characterization beyond the traditional type 2 and non‐type 2 phenotypes to better

The Sensation of Nasal Obstruction and Nasal Airway Patency
The relationship between the sensation of nasal obstruction and the nasal airway patency was evaluated by using an active-posterior rhinomanometry. The sensation of the nasal obstruction was devided into 5 grades, and the nasal airway conductance was used in order to represent the nasal airway patency as a numerical expression.

Rhinoscleroma presenting as a nasal-palatal mass with airway obstruction [PDF]
We report a case of a 45-year-old male with severe rhinoscleroma. The patient presented to the emergency room with dyspnea from a long-standing nasal-palatal mass. A tracheostomy was required for airway control. While dyspnea in the presence of an upper airway mass is typical of malignancy, consideration of non-oncological etiologies is important.

ABSTRACT Background Long‐term management strategies for severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) increasingly include biologic therapy targeting Type 2 inflammation. However, data on outcomes after complete discontinuation of dupilumab following sustained disease control are scarce.

ABSTRACT Background Biologic treatments were introduced for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) in 2019. Treatment algorithms for medically refractory CRSwNP remain open, with patients choosing among surgery, biologics, or both. Real‐world utilization of surgery and biologics remains incompletely characterized.

Poly(I:C)‐Activated Nasal Fibroblasts Promote Eosinophil Recruitment in CRSwNP
ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is characterized by persistent mucosal inflammation and eosinophilic infiltration. Although epithelial and immune cells have been widely studied, the role of nasal fibroblasts in innate immune activation and eosinophil recruitment remains unclear.

Congenital nasal pyriform aperture stenosis: diagnosis and management
Background Congenital nasal pyriform aperture stenosis is a rare and potentially lethal form of airway obstruction in newborns. Immediate recognition and appropriate therapy are mandatory for this potentially life-threating condition.

ABSTRACT Background Olfactory dysfunction (OD) is an increasingly recognized but under‐investigated comorbidity of cystic fibrosis (CF). Its prevalence, assessment methods, and response to CF‐directed treatment, including highly effective modulator therapy (HEMT) remains incompletely characterized.

Irreversible Electroporation for Inferior Turbinate Reduction Ablation in Adults
ABSTRACT Background Inferior turbinate hypertrophy is a common cause of nasal airway obstruction. An optimal surgical approach should provide effective volume reduction while preserving mucosal integrity and minimizing postoperative morbidity. Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of irreversible electroporation (IRE) for non‐thermal ablation ...

Models of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [PDF]
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major global health problem and is predicted to become the third most common cause of death by 2020. Apart from the important preventive steps of smoking cessation, there are no other specific treatments ...
