ONCOCYTOMA OF THE NASAL CAVITY

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2003
Oncocytoma of the nasal cavity is an extremely rare condition with only a few cases reported in the literature. A case of oncocytoma of the nasal cavity in a 12 years old Nepali boy is presented along with a brief review of the relevant literature.

Identifying the optimal parameters for sprayed and inhaled drug particulates for intranasal targeting of SARS-CoV-2 infection sites [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Efficacy for COVID-19 treatments can be enhanced significantly through targeting the nasopharynx, which has been shown to be the dominant preliminary infection site for SARS-CoV-2. Although intranasal drugs can be administered easily through drops or sprays, it is difficult to test whether current protocols will deliver the right amount of the drug to ...

GRP78 Nanobody‐Directed Immunotoxin Activates Innate Immunity Through STING Pathway to Synergize Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A GRP78 nanobody‐directed immunotoxin suppresses cancer progression and metastasis by enhancing antitumor immunity via STING pathway activation, offering a pan‐cancer‐targeted approach and immunotherapy combination strategy. Abstract The lack of targetable antigens poses a significant challenge in developing effective cancer‐targeted therapies.

The method of inhalation therapy with micro-doses of mixtures noble gases with oxygen [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this research, we presented the method of inhalation therapy with noble gas micro-doses and results of clinical studies in hospital of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). We have designed a device that allows dosed injection of noble gas with a volume of about 2-4 ml with peroxide vapors into the nasal cavity.

Massage‐Mimicking Nanosheets Mechanically Reorganize Inter‐organelle Contacts to Restore Mitochondrial Functions in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Parkinson's disease (PD) progression is aggravated by disrupted inter‐organelle contacts, which are influenced by mechanical forces. NanoMassage, 200 nm PEGylated black phosphorus nanosheets, deliver targeted mechanical stimulation to neural cells.

Possibility of Disinfection of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in Human Respiratory Tract by Controlled Ethanol Vapor Inhalation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza are lipophilic, enveloped viruses, and are relatively easy to inactivate by exposure to alcohols. The envelope mainly consists of the lipid bilayer, taken from the host cells at assembly/budding stage of the viral life cycle.

Zonal receptor distributions maximize olfactory information [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The olfactory sense measures the chemical composition of the environment using a diverse array of olfactory receptors. In vertebrates, the olfactory receptors reside in a mucus layer in the nasal cavity and can thus only detect odorants that are inhaled with the airflow and dissolved in mucus.

Polarized Color Filters Using Colloidal Quantum Rod Nanocrystals for Advanced High‐Performance Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This groundbreaking research has advanced the utilization of quantum rods (QRs) for the emission of linearly polarized light, resulting in exceptional color saturation and enhanced display efficiency. The developed filter demonstrates a polarization degree of up to 0.67 and an impressive ambient contrast ratio (ACR) of 263:1, setting the stage for ...
