Techno‐Economic Evaluation of Synthetic and Natural Antioxidants Used for Enhancing Oxidation Stability of Biodiesel

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Techno‐economic evaluation of synthetic and natural antioxidants in biodiesel stability. ABSTRACT The oxidation stability of biodiesel is a critical factor affecting its storage and performance, necessitating the use of antioxidants to enhance its shelf life and reliability. Both natural and synthetic antioxidants have proven effective in improving the

Drug delivery pathways to the central nervous system via the brain glymphatic system circumventing the blood‐brain barrier

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
The discovery of the glymphatic system has opened up a pathway for drug delivery to the brain by circumventing the blood‐brain barrier, which can effectively improve drug utilization. The methods of drug delivery through the glymphatic system include intrathecal injection, intranasal injection, and delivery through the meningeal lymphatic vessels.

Occupationally Relevant Zinc‐ and Copper‐Containing Metal Fumes Inhibit Human THP‐1 Macrophage TNF and IL‐6 Responses to Bacterial Stimuli

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
Metal workers have an increased risk of severe pneumonia due to metal fume exposure. In this study, zinc oxide (ZnO) and copper oxide (CuO) particles are found to inhibit specific anti‐bacterial macrophage responses, which may substantially contribute to impaired lung immunity.

Silver Nanoparticle‐Mediated Antiviral Efficacy against Enveloped Viruses: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) exhibit broad‐spectrum antiviral activity by targeting key viral structures and processes. They disrupt viral envelopes, compromising integrity, and bind to nucleocapsids, impairing viral replication. AgNPs also inhibit glycoprotein interactions, preventing viral attachment and entry into host cells.

Transoral Robotic Surgery in Chronic Lingual Tonsillitis: An Observational Cohort Study

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic lingual tonsillitis (CLT) entails persistent inflammation of the lingual tonsils (LT), presenting in recurrent infections, throat discomfort, dyspnea, dysphagia, and LT hypertrophy. Methods A retrospective observational study at a nonacademic general hospital described outcomes of CLT patients undergoing base of tongue (BOT)

Oncogenic Human Papillomaviruses Drive One‐Third of Sinonasal Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Are Not Mutually Exclusive for Gene Mutations

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The detection rate of oncogenic human papillomaviruses (HPVs) in sinonasal squamous cell carcinomas (SNSCCs) varies among studies. The mutational landscape of SNSCCs remains poorly investigated. Methods We investigated the prevalence and prognostic significance of HPV infections based on p16 protein expression, HPV‐DNA detection ...
