Leiomyoma of nasal cavity is an extremely rare and unusual benign mass that uncommonly arises from the nasal septum. These are vascular or nonvascular masses of myogenic origin. We present a rare case of leiomyoma arising from the nasal septum and discuss its management using KTP 532 laser.

Chondrosarcoma of the nasal septum
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1977A rare case of chondrosarcoma of the nasal septum is presented. Wide excision of the tumour including the right orbit and part of the anterior cranial fossa was undertaken. Review of the literature shows that this is the treatment of choice and the radiotherapy does not prevent recurrence.

The nasal septum plays a paramount role in determining nasal aesthetics and nasal function. Surgical management of the nasal septum often presents a challenge to even the most skilled nasal surgeon. The nasal septum is the partition that divides the nose into right and left nasal cavities. It is a composite of bony and cartilaginous contributions and is usually deviated out of the midline to some degree. Remarkably, a significant clinical deviation may be present without associated nasal symptoms.

Chondrosarcoma of the nasal septum
Skeletal Radiology, 2002The nasal septum is a particularly rare site of origin of chondrosarcoma. Cranial base invasion may be at hand, with such lesions making complete tumor removal difficult. MRI techniques allow precise definition of tumor extent. In the described case, CT and Dynamic MR imaging were performed in a case of chondrosarcoma of the nasal septum.

A modification of the 'maxilla-premaxilla' approach for nasal septum surgery is described. With this modification the mucosal elevation in the area of the two inferior tunnels is performed from above along the crests of the vomer, maxillary and premaxillary bones, instead of from below through the undermined base of the nose as in the 'maxilla ...
