Distribution Aligning Refinery of Pseudo-label for Imbalanced Semi-supervised Learning [PDF]
While semi-supervised learning (SSL) has proven to be a promising way for leveraging unlabeled data when labeled data is scarce, the existing SSL algorithms typically assume that training class distributions are balanced. However, these SSL algorithms trained under imbalanced class distributions can severely suffer when generalizing to a balanced ...

The Complex Topology of Chemical Plants [PDF]
We show that flowsheets of oil refineries can be associated to complex network topologies that are scale-free, display small-world effect and possess hierarchical organization. The emergence of these properties from such man-made networks is explained as a consequence of the currently used principles for process design, which include heuristics as well

Petroleum Refinery Multi-Antenna Propagation Measurements [PDF]
This paper presents the results of the first multi- antenna propagation measurement campaign to be conducted at an operating petroleum refining facility. The measurement equipment transmits pseudo-random noise test signals from two antennas at a 2.47 GHz carrier with a signal bandwidth of approximately 25 MHz.

ProxyMix: Proxy-based Mixup Training with Label Refinery for Source-Free Domain Adaptation [PDF]
Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) aims to transfer knowledge from a labeled source domain to an unlabeled target domain. Owing to privacy concerns and heavy data transmission, source-free UDA, exploiting the pre-trained source models instead of the raw source data for target learning, has been gaining popularity in recent years.

Label Refinery: Improving ImageNet Classification through Label Progression [PDF]
Among the three main components (data, labels, and models) of any supervised learning system, data and models have been the main subjects of active research. However, studying labels and their properties has received very little attention. Current principles and paradigms of labeling impose several challenges to machine learning algorithms.

Biofuel production from algae feedstock has become a topic of interest in the recent decades since algae biomass cultivation is feasible in aquaculture and does therefore not compete with use of arable land. In the present work, hydrothermal liquefaction

Chaotic Memory Randomization for Securing Embedded Systems [PDF]
Embedded systems permeate through nearly all aspects of modern society. From cars to refrigerators to nuclear refineries, securing these systems has never been more important. Intrusions, such as the Stuxnet malware which broke the centrifuges in Iran's Natanz refinery, can be catastrophic to not only the infected systems, but even to the wellbeing of ...

Evaluation of different polymeric coagulants for the treatment of oil refinery wastewater
Wastewater from oil refinery industries has major pollution potentials with mutagenic and toxic compounds. Due to water scarcity in South Africa, oil refinery industries are compelled to find appropriate technology to treat their wastewater for reuse ...
