Abstract Background Unguided (blind) tube placement commonly results in lung (1.6%) and oesophageal (5%) misplacement, which can lead to pneumothorax, aspiration pneumonia, death, feeding delays, and increased cost. Use of real‐time direct vision may reduce risk.
