Nasopharyngeal Carcinomas in Children
Archives of Surgery, 1967MALIGNANT neoplasms of the nasopharynx are uncommon in children. In Dargeon's review of 506 cases of childhood malignancies, only 27 were primary in the nasopharynx.1 In order of incidence, nasopharyngeal malignant neoplasms ranked behind neoplasms of bone, reticuloendothelial system, soft tissue, the eye and orbit, and the genitourinary tract ...

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma in children
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 2000Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is rare in children. We report two cases from KK Women and Children's Hospital in Singapore, who presented with advanced locoregional disease. The various aspects of NPC in children are discussed. Immunogenetics of nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Annales de biologie clinique, 2014Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a complex multifactorial disorder involving both genetic and environmental factors. Genetic predisposition linked to the immune system has been associated with various tumors. This involves genetic diversity of the genes encoding the molecules of the immune response such as inflammation and anti-tumor surveillance.

Familial nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Seminars in Cancer Biology, 2002Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) has a striking geographical and ethnical distribution. It occurs with high frequency in southern China and Southeast Asia. Family clustering was also observed in NPC and a typical family with 15 NPC cases was introduced in this paper.

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma in Children
Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, 1986The results of treatment are reviewed in 18 cases of childhood nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Since 1976 adjuvant chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, and adriamycin has been used in Manchester and Leeds. The outcome is compared in 9 patients treated with radiotherapy alone and 9 patients treated later with both radiotherapy and adjuvant ...

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma with dermatomyositis
International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1989From 1976 to 1986, ten out of 1154 consecutive nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients were found to have dermatomyositis (DM). Their clinical features and treatment results were analyzed. The skin manifestation was typical of DM and myopathy occurred in seven patients.

Advances in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Current Opinion in Oncology, 2005Intergroup 0099 established the role of concurrent chemotherapy with radiation therapy in the treatment of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, but its reproducibility was unclear and chemotherapy compliance was poor. Multiple concurrent chemoradiation phase III trials were initiated in response to the Intergroup trial, and technologic advances ...
