A Novel Ferroelectric Rashba Semiconductor. [PDF]
A ferroelectric Rashba semiconductor owns a definite Rashba spin‐texture that can be manipulated and reversed by an applied electric field. Such a material is highly sought‐after for spintronic transistors and/or memories. This work presents an original demonstration of a new ferroelectric Rashba semiconductor, by confronting its measured structural ...

Room temperature polaritonic soft-spin XY Hamiltonian in organic-inorganic halide perovskites. [PDF]
Abstract Exciton–polariton condensates, due to their nonlinear and coherent characteristics, have been employed to construct spin Hamiltonian lattices for potentially studying spin glass, critical dephasing, and even solving optimization problems. Here, we report the room‐temperature polariton condensation and polaritonic soft‐spin XY Hamiltonian ...

Behind the curtain: How did women's work history vary across Central and Eastern Europe?
Abstract This paper investigates the differences in female work experience across Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs). We use retrospective SHARELIFE data to analyse women's work history from 1950 to 1990. We provide descriptive evidence that women's work experience varied across CEECs.

Multipole Engineering of Attractive−Repulsive and Bending Optical Forces
Focused laser beams allow controlling the mechanical motion of objects in space. While small particles typically experience attractive gradient forces and repulsive radiation pressure, introducing new capabilities into optomechanical manipulation might be essential.

Abstract Gain‐dissipative systems of various physical origin have recently shown the ability to act as analogue minimisers of hard combinatorial optimisation problems. Whether or not these proposals will lead to any advantage in performance over the classical computations depends on the ability to establish controllable couplings for sufficiently dense
