The close results of recent presidential elections reflect the emergence of a highly divided and partisan electorate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Over the past four decades, the American electorate has changed dramatically. As a result of these changes, Alan Abramowitz argues that we have entered a new and fundamentally different era of competition in presidential elections.

All‐PEG‐Like Block Copolymers Self‐Assemble into Stealth Nanocarriers for Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Self‐assembling nanoparticles composed entirely of POEGMA are engineered by exploiting side‐chain–dependent amphiphilicity and tunable thermoresponsive behavior. These single‐material nanocarriers encapsulate diverse hydrophobic drugs with high efficiency, retain therapeutic activity, improve in vivo efficacy, and evade anti‐PEG antibodies.

Arts management beyond eventification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Looking for cultural remedies between the opposite perspectives of marketisation and culturalisation of the arts, is equivalent to trying new logics between instrumental (Benjamin 1936; Bourdieu 1979) and communicative logics (Habermas 1981).

DOTA‐grafted Cationic Polymers Behaving as Powerful Macromolecular Resistance‐reversal Agents (MRRAs) Combating Against New Delhi Metallo‐β‐lactamase (NDM)‐producing Bacteria

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two macromolecular resistance‐reversal agents (MRRAs)—linear (MRRAL) and nanostructured (MRRAN) polymers were fabricated by integrating DOTA motifs into tunable polycationic scaffolds. MRRAs exhibit superior antibacterial potency once combined with meropenem (MEM) through (i) bacterial membrane disruption via localized cationic charge and ...

Unbearable Burden? Living and Paying Student Loans as a First-Year Teacher [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
It is widely believed that starting public school teacher salaries are too low, and student loan burdens are too high. If true, we could be facing a situation in which recent college graduates cannot afford to go into teaching because they will be unable

Neural Fields for Highly Accelerated 2D Cine Phase Contrast MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT 2D cine phase contrast (CPC) MRI provides quantitative information on blood velocity and flow within the human vasculature. However, data acquisition is time‐consuming, motivating the reconstruction of the velocity field from undersampled measurements to reduce scan times. In this work, neural fields are proposed as a continuous spatiotemporal

Advancing Precision Nutrition Through Multimodal Data and Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Individual responses to food vary dramatically, challenging traditional dietary advice. This review explores how the unique genetic makeup, gut microbiome, and brain activity shape host metabolic health. We examine how artificial intelligence integrates these multimodal data to predict individualized dietary needs, moving beyond one‐size‐fits‐all ...

Biomimetic Cell Membrane‐Coated MOFs System for Targeted Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biomimetic MOF‐based drug delivery nanoplatforms synthesized using liposomes or cell membranes as camouflage for multiple cancer therapeutics. ABSTRACT The integration of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) with cell membrane coatings has emerged as a revolutionary strategy to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of cancer nanomedicine.
