Livestock Multi‐Omics Integration: A Systematic Framework From Statistical Association to Causal Interpretation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A three‐tier livestock multi‐omics framework resolves four typical analytical pitfalls. Moving from statistical association through machine learning preprocessing to triple‐modal causal inference, it converts omics results into genomic selection and gene editing strategies to achieve One Health, underpinned by multi‐omics data, multimodal sequencing ...

Flow similarity model predicts allometric size dependence, curvature, and covariation of 285 North American tree species

open access: yesEcosphere
Scaling patterns in plants have long interested biologists, particularly whether different species share similar patterns of growth, and whether differences in growth trajectories depend on plant size.

How Video‐Based Information Affects Farmers' Willingness to Pay for Drone Services

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Professional service for digital technology like agricultural drones lowers transaction costs and scope thresholds for smallholders. Meanwhile, perceptual adoption barriers remain underexplored. We conduct a two‐stage choice experiment with a randomized video‐based information treatment among 384 Chinese crop farmers to measure its effect on ...

Global Data Compilation Across Climate Gradients Supports the Use of Common Allometric Equations for Three Transatlantic Mangrove Species

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Predicting the distribution, structure, and biomass of mangrove forests is an area of high research interest. Across the Atlantic East Pacific biogeographic region, three species are common and abundant members of local mangrove communities; Rhizophora ...

Argumente pentru continuarea finanţării Inventarului Forestier Naţional [Arguments for the further funding of the National Forest Inventory] [PDF]

open access: yesBucovina Forestieră, 2014
The paper summarizes the rationale and motives for having implemented and financed the National Forest Inventory in order to clarify a series of questions raised by the criteria taken into account when the sampling grid was design.

Benefits of a strategic national forest inventory to science and society: the USDA Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis program

open access: yesiForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry, 2008
Forest Inventory and Analysis, previously known as Forest Survey, is one of the oldest research and development programs in the USDA Forest Service. Statistically-based inventory efforts that started in Scandinavian countries in the 1920s raised interest

Hemp Cultivation and Crop Diversification: Implications for Ecosystem Services in Kentucky

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the ecosystem benefits of expanding hemp cultivation by assessing its impact on crop diversity. Using scenario‐based simulations and fixed‐effect panel regressions with county‐level data in Kentucky, we find that increased hemp acreage tends to enhance crop diversity, improving water quality and bird diversity.

U.S. Agriculture, Biofuel Markets, and Trade: Challenges and Opportunities

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using an enhanced Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model (GTAP‐BIO), this study assesses how the expansion in demand for Electric Vehicles (EVs) and the reduction in exports of agricultural products induced by trade disputes negatively affect US agriculture.

Climate sensitive growth model for volume and carbon storage of subtropical broadleaf secondary forests in China

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Studying the growth models of secondary forests is crucial for forest management in the context of climate change, particularly in the subtropical regions of China, where broadleaf secondary forests are both ecologically complex and abundant.
