The Spatiotemporal Genetic Architecture of Seed Vigor in Upland Cotton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Leveraging the semi‐automated SeedRanger platform, we profiled the germination kinetics of 356 cotton accessions at a 30‐min interval. This high‐throughput phenomic approach delineated a temporal genetic network comprising 541 stage‐specific loci. Crucially, functional validation identified FLA2 as a pivotal, auxin‐modulated regulator that orchestrates

Forest delineation based on LiDAR data and vertical accuracy of the terrain model in forest and non-forest area

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Research, 2014
This paper deals with the use of airborne laser scanning data (ALS) in the process of the automatic delineation of forest and the generation of digital terrain models (DTM) in forested and nonforested land.

Temporal and spatial high-resolution climate data from 1961 to 2100 for the German National Forest Inventory (NFI)

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Science, 2019
Keymessage The “NFI 2012 environmental data base climate” is part of the environmental database of the German National Forest Inventory. It contains climate information for 26,450 inventory points generated from gridded daily climate data for 1961–2100 ...

Harmonisation of stem volume estimates in European National Forest Inventories [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Science, 2019
Abstract Key message Volume predictions of sample trees are basic inputs for essential National Forest Inventory (NFI) estimates. The predicted volumes are rarely comparable among European NFIs because of country-specific dbh-thresholds and differences regarding the inclusion of the ...

Single‐Cell Reveal GALNT7‐Dependent Ferroptosis Suppression as a Mechanism of Immunotherapy Resistance in Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated clinical and mechanistic analyses identify GALNT7 as a ferroptosis‐suppressive regulator associated with immunotherapy resistance in non‐small cell lung cancer. GALNT7 depletion promotes lipid peroxidation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and ferroptosis, enhances CD8+ T‐cell activation and IFN‐γ production, and sensitizes tumors to PD‐1 blockade,

Natural Variation of COLD and CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 Coordinately Fine‐Tunes Cold Tolerance and Tea Quality in Tea Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐trait genome‐wide association mapping identifies a central hub regulator, COLD AND CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 (CCR1), and its excellent natural allele variation, coordinately enhancing cold tolerance and promoting catechins biosyntheis. CsCCR1 interacts with CsCBF1/3 and is transcriptionally activated by CsLUX and CsKUA1 to promote catechins ...

Merging National Forest and National Forest Health Inventories to Obtain an Integrated Forest Resource Inventory – Experiences from Bavaria, Slovenia and Sweden

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
To meet the demands of sustainable forest management and international commitments, European nations have designed a variety of forest-monitoring systems for specific needs. While the majority of countries are committed to independent, single-purpose inventorying, a minority of countries have merged their single-purpose forest inventory systems into ...

Correcting Apparent Priming Bias Unveils Fertilizer Nitrogen‐Risk Archetypes of Surplus and Depletion Across Asian Rice Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Correcting the apparent priming effect resolves systematic biases in Asian rice fertilizer nitrogen accounting. Net soil retention drops below 7%, while 48% of fertilizer escapes, inflicting US$98.53 billion in annual reactive‐nitrogen damages. High‐resolution mapping uncovers N‐risk archetypes across 42% of the rice area, delivering a spatially ...

Programmable Multi‐Axially Aligned Aerogels via Sequential Freeze‐Casting for Tailored Anisotropy and Tunable Mechanics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional single‐gradient freeze‐casting typically produces unidirectional porous architectures with limited transverse connectivity. The Sequential Hybridization by Infiltration and Freeze‐casting Technique (SHIFT) addresses this constraint by integrating secondary aligned structures within a preformed primary scaffold.
