A Systematic Review of Participatory Science Approaches in K–12 Ecological Monitoring

open access: yesScience Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Participatory science has emerged as a vital educational approach for engaging K–12 learners in authentic scientific inquiry while generating data for ecological monitoring. This systematic review synthesizes 72 empirical studies published between 2006 and 2025 that involved K–12 students in ecological monitoring projects.

Achieve Sustainability by Easing Population to 4 Billion by 2200

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The past century of massive increases in human population and resource use has seen many undesirable environmental effects, ranging from biodiversity loss to climate change. But a research gap exists, as the ultimate causes are often not described with precision or mentioned at all.

A Generic Approach to Creating a National Soil Security Strategy

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil is a living and non‐renewable resource that underpins our very existence. It produces our food, filters our water, stores vast amounts of carbon, cycles essential nutrients, and sustains the rich tapestry of biodiversity on which our planet depends.

Topotactic Nitridation Enabled Core–Shell La4Ti3(O,N)12@LaTiO2N for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Topotactic nitridation of (111)‐plane layered perovskite La4Ti3O12 proceeds through a persistent 2D layered oxynitride La4Ti3(O,N)12, enabling formation of a core–shell La4Ti3(O,N)12@LaTiO2N heterostructure before full conversion into 3D perovskite LaTiO2N.
