Formation of Stable Amorphous Calcium Phosphate and Collagen Assemblies by a Versatile Spray‐Drying Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) microparticles with long‐term and thermal stability are prepared with or without collagen using a scalable one‐pot spray‐drying process. Under simulated physiological conditions, they crystallize into biomimetic bone mineral and, when combined with collagen, form extrudable, fibrillar bone‐like 3D constructs.

Institutional Explanations of Economic Development: the Role of Precious Metals [PDF]

open access: yes
Recent research has emphasized the influence of colonization on the institutional development and economic performance in former European colonies. Where European colonizers settled, they replicated the investment-conducive institutions found at home. It

Growth of Oriented Au Nanostructures: Role of Oxide at the Interface

open access: yes, 2012
We report on the formation of oriented gold nano structures on Si(100) substrate by annealing procedures in low vacuum (\approx10-2 mbar) and at high temperature (\approx 975^{\circ} C).

Electrochemically Driven Dissipative Growth of Affinity Hydrogels for Bioresponsive Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Voltage pulses drive the growth and reinforcement of hydrogel films under dissipative conditions. This biocompatible strategy enables efficient integration of affinity ligands into the hydrogel matrix, enhancing the selective capture of growth factors and allowing precise temporal control over their release, making them well‐suited as adaptive ...

GOLD-SULFIDE MINERALIZATION OF QUARTZ VEINS IN GRANITES OF THE SOUTH SUKHTELYA GOLD OCCURRENCE (SOUTH URALS) [PDF]

open access: yesМинералогия
The paper considers mineralogical and geochemical features of gold-sulfide mineralization of quartz veins in granites of the Katsbakh complex in the South Sukhtelya gold occurrence (South Urals). The sulfide content of quartz veins varies from 1 to 3 vol.

Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

A method for assessing the success and failure of community-level interventions in the presence of network diffusion, social reinforcement, and related social effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Prevention and intervention work done within community settings often face unique analytic challenges for rigorous evaluations. Since community prevention work (often geographically isolated) cannot be controlled in the same way other prevention programs

Real‐Time, Label‐Free Monitoring of Cell Behavior on a Bioelectronic Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bioelectronic nanofibrous scaffold is introduced that supports cell growth while enabling real‐time, label‐free monitoring of cellular behavior through impedance measurements. The system correlates electrical signals with cell viability and surface coverage, offering an integrated platform for studying dynamic biological processes and advancing next ...
