Experimental Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Rod Bundle Channel in Natural Circulation under Rolling Motion Condition

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu
Affected by sea wind and waves, the floating nuclear power plant (FNPP) would be in rolling motion during operation. The rolling motion will introduce fluctuated inertial force periodically, resulting in periodic thermal and hydraulic parameters ...

Impact of Pre‐Oxidation Treatments on a Recycled MgO/Steel‐Composite as Carbon Free Anode in Aluminum‐Electrolysis Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

Investigating the Representative of Aquifer Transmissivity Determined by Passive Response Methods: A Comparison With Time‐Dependent Hydraulic Parameters Inferred From Different Stages of Pumping Tests

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Aquifer pumping tests represent a standard method for estimating hydraulic characteristics, with practitioners often focusing on late period drawdown data because these are less affected by within‐ and near‐borehole effects (e.g., borehole‐storage and ...

Intracore Natural Circulation Study in the High Temperature Test Facility

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Engineering
The development of the Modular High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor is a significant milestone in advanced nuclear reactor technology. One of the concerns for the reactor’s safe operation is the effects of a loss-of-flow accident (LOFA) where the coolant ...

Study on the Movement and Deposition of Particles in Supercritical Water Natural Circulation Based on Grey Correlation Theory

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The movement and deposition of particles that occur during their natural circulation in supercritical water exercise an important impact on the safe and stable operation of a supercritical water reactor (SCWR). When supercritical water flows in pipelines,

Engineering Judgment and Natural Circulation Calculations [PDF]

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, 2011
The analysis performed to establish the validity of computer code results in the particular field of natural circulation flow stability calculations is presented in the light of usual engineering practice. The effects of discretization and closure correlations are discussed and some hints to avoid undesired mistakes in the evaluations performed are ...

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Determination of rate of natural circulation of air in stove [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper describes a method of calculating the rate of natural circulation of the drying agent on the basis of turbulent jets. The rate of natural circulation is mainly determined by the linear heat capacity of the heater and thick dried lumber and can
