Convective heat transfer in the Burgers-Rayleigh-Bénard system [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Fluids 8,063502(2023), 2023
The dynamics of heat transfer in a model system of Rayleigh-B\'enard (RB) convection reduced to its essential, here dubbed Burgers-Rayleigh-B\'enard (BRB), is studied. The system is spatially one-dimensional, the flow field is compressible and its evolution is described by the Burgers equation forced by an active temperature field.

Foundations of Convection with Density Stratification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The phenomenon of thermal and compositional (chemical) convection is very common in nature and therefore of great importance from the point of view of understanding of many fundamental aspects of the environment and universe. A number of books have been written on the topic, such as e.g.

Phase-field-lattice Boltzmann study for lamellar eutectic growth in a natural convection melt [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2017
In the present study, the influence of natural convection on the lamellar eutectic growth is determined by a phase-field-lattice Boltzmann study for Al-Cu eutectic alloy.

Shape evolution of electrodeposited bumps into deep cavities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Metal posts and finer pitch solder bumps are the indispensable microconnectors for chip size packaging and are formed by electrodeposition into deep cavities. It is difficult to stir inside these deep cavities.

Magneto-thermal-fluid analysis taking account of natural convection using semi-Lagrange coordinate system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A method for magneto-thermal-fluid analysis, taking account of natural convection using a semi-Lagrange coordinate system, is developed. The developed method is applied to a simple induction heating model in which the steel plate is heated due to an eddy
