Temperature Coefficient Analysis of Polycrystalline PV Modules Under Field Conditions in Ghana

Field measurements from a commercial PV plant in Ghana show polycrystalline module temperature coefficients of −0.473%/°C—31% higher than manufacturer values—highlighting the risk of underestimating energy losses and degradation in fast‐growing West African solar deployments.

Evidence From Microscopy and U–Pb Geochronology as a Clue to the Influence of the Cretaceous Magmatism in the Diagenesis of Pre‐Salt Carbonate Reservoirs in the Santos Basin (Brazil)

Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

NATURAL CONVECTION IN A SEMIELLIPTIC CAVITY

Natural convective steady-state motion inside a bidimensional semielliptic cavity is investigated numerically by means of a finite-element algorithm. The ceiling of the cavity is kept at a known temperature with a sinusoidal spatial distribution and the floor is assumed thermally insulated.
