Development of analytical techniques for the study of natural yellow dyes in historic textiles

open access: yes
Interest in all aspects of dyestuffs has grown considerably since an informal meeting of researchers twenty years ago developed into the annual meetings of Dyes in History and Archaeology, with the journal of the same name publishing a selection of ...

Eutectozymes as Soft Hybrid Materials for Advanced Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Eutectozymes are sustainable hybrid materials that embed a GOx–HRP cascade within hydrophobic eutectogels featuring a dual supramolecular–covalent network. This architecture preserves native enzyme structure and stability, enables efficient heterogeneous biocatalysis in aqueous media, and positions eutectogels as robust platforms for next‐generation ...

Natural Dyes and Salt

open access: yes, 2015

Digital Microneedles for Multiplexed Transdermal Sensing via Fluorescent QR Codes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Digital fluorescent microneedles encode biochemical information in skin into scannable QR codes through threshold‐activated probes that generate binary on/off signals. By transforming analog fluorescence into discrete digital patterns, this platform enables calibration‐free, multiplexed transdermal sensing of physiologically relevant biomarkers ...

Soluble Powdered Natural Dyes from Malaysia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In recent years, the number of textile craft practitioners in Malaysia using natural dyes in their work has dwindled drastically due to the tedious process of extracting the colours. Some of the plants and fruits used for natural dyeing also are seasonal.

Printing of Wool and Cotton Fabrics with Natural Dyes

open access: yes, 2013
Natural dyes are the heritage of the history to human being. Although they were used for the coloration of goods from the ancient time, it is not common to use natural dyes commercially now.

Viral Infection‐Inspired Autonomous Detection of Fusion‐Competent Viruses for Screening and Environmental Surveillance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by viral entry mechanisms, the FUSION assay enables autonomous detection of respiratory viruses via membrane fusion–triggered CRISPR‐Cas13a activation. VEACON selectively fuses with fusion‐competent viruses, triggering fluorescence within confined vesicles.

Broadening Color Shade of Dyed Wool Fibre with Binary and Ternary Natural Plant Dye Combinations

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers
A limited selection of natural dyes’ color impedes the development of textile dyeing with natural plant dyes. Inspiring by the conventional coloration of textiles with a combination of three synthetic dyes generally, the present work is to investigate ...
