From Natural Resources to Natural Assets [PDF]
This article examines the scope for strategies to build natural assets in the hands of low-income individuals and communities. Natural assets include sources of raw materials such as forests and fisheries, and the airsheds, lands, and water bodies that ...

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Secreted Nonstructural Protein 3 is a Pathogenic Determinant of Orbivirus
This study uncovers a conserved PIP2‐dependent secretory pathway of orbivirus NS3 that induces vascular leakage. Pharmacological disruption of PIP2‐NS3 interaction significantly reduces viral pathogenicity and provides protective efficacy in murine models, establishing PIP2‐mediated NS3 secretion as both a key virulence determinant and a promising ...

Farming for Nature: buffers between nature and agriculture
Environmental management can become more effective by striving for better cohesion between nature reserves and agricultural areas. Both types of management are part of the same provincial environmental management plans, stimulating consultation between farmers’ collectives and nature managing organisations and more connection and coherence within their ...
