Frequency of Naturally Occurring Strabismus in Monkeys
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1985ABSTRACT A colony of Macaca nemestrina monkeys was screened for naturally occurring strabismus. Thirteen cases of naturally occurring strabismus were documented, 12 esotropes and one exotrope. The characteristics of the strabismus in these monkeys were similar to those of human clinical cases.

The natural frequencies of portal frames—II
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1965Abstract The oscillations of a single-storey, single-bay portal frame have been investigated. The particular case of a frame having identical columns which differ from the cross-beam has been studied in detail for the limiting cases of (a) encastre footing, (b) pinned footing.

THE aim of this paper is to calculate the natural frequencies and to consider the influence of the damping parameter on a wing's natural flexural and torsional vibration. The author took into account only the elastic hysteresis of the material because the structural damping, depending on the type of the aeroplane, cannot be taken into account in a ...

Abstract The natural frequency of machine parts as related to the noise problem in machine operation is discussed in a general manner. Vibration phenomena in disks and rings are described in detail, following which the author discusses the manner in which a gear vibrates at its natural frequency.

Natural Frequencies in Sexual Pelvic Thrusting
Integrative And Comparative BiologySynopsis Seventy percent of mammals copulate using repeated pelvic thrusting, while the transfer of sperm requires just a single intromission. Why did thrusting evolve to be the dominant form of sexual intercourse? In this study, we investigate how the rate of sexual pelvic thrusting changes with body size.

Natural Frequencies, an Approximation
2004Generally, when calculating the natural frequencies of complex dynamic linear systems the finite element analysis method is applied. However, it is good practice to first apply a method to approximately calculate the natural frequency of that system to get a feel for the value of the natural frequency.

Natural hybridization: Frequency
1997Abstract As discussed in Chapter ], numerous investigators have used natural hybridiza tion as a tool for studying phenomena that may cause population divergence and speciation (i.e., the formation of ban-iers to reproduction; Barton and Charlesworth, 1984; Coyne and Barton, 1988; Hewitt, 1988; Barton and Hewitt, 1989).
