International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1963Abstract A rapid graphical method is devised to estimate the natural frequencies of a multicylinder engine with flywheel and accessory drive on opposite ends. This method is valid, provided that the inertia loads contributed by all cylinders are equal and the torsional stiffness between the cranks does not vary.
