Selective Electrochemical Regeneration of Aqueous Amine Solutions to Capture CO2 and to Convert H2S into Hydrogen and Solid Sulfur

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Removing CO2 from natural gas or biogas in the presence of H2S is technically challenging and expensive as it often requires separation of both acid gases from the gas, typically using an aqueous amine solution, followed by separation of CO2 from H2S and

Maillard Type Reaction for Electroless Copper Plating onto Ceramic Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the manufacturing of copper‐plated ceramic nanoparticles in an environmentally friendly way. Supported by organic functionalizations with pectin an electroless plating step can be performed. Sustainable reagents like xylose, and several amino acids are used for the reduction process.

Control of Line Pack in Natural Gas System: Balancing Limited Resources under Uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We build and experiment with a realistic but reduced natural gas model of Israel. The system is unusual because (a) it is controlled from a limited number of points which are at, or close to, the gas extraction sites offshore of Israel's Mediterranean coast; (b) control specifies average flux at inlet, not pressure; (c) there are no inland compressors ...

Large‐Scale Interlaboratory Study Along the Entire Process Chain of Laser Powder Bed Fusion: Bridging Variability, Standards, and Optimization across Metals and Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
What happens when 32 labs join forces to study nanoparticle‐modified powders? A data‐driven journey through laser powder bed fusion—now openly accessible for the entire additive manufacturing community—is studied. Laser powder bed fusion is a cornerstone technology for additive manufacturing (AM) of metals and polymers, yet challenges in achieving ...

Numerical Simulation of Time-Varying Characteristics in a High-Permeability Sandstone Reservoir: A Case of Gaoqian Southern Area

open access: yesGeofluids
In the process of long-term water flooding in the Gaoqian Southern Area with an average porosity of 30% and an average permeability of 1333.5×10−3 μm2, the fluid-solid interaction among oil, water, and rock has a great influence on the pore structure. It

On Negative Correlation of Arboreal Gas on Some Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Arboreal Gas is a type of (unrooted) random forest on a graph, where the probability is determined by a parameter $\beta>0$ per edge. This model is essentially equivalent to acyclic Bernoulli bond percolation with a parameter $p=\beta/(1+\beta)$. Additionally, Arboreal Gas can be considered as the limit of the $q$-states random cluster model with $p ...
