Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Energy Security in the EU and Beyond [PDF]

open access: yes
Past episodes of energy insecurity have been fleeting and the fears have been assuaged by market forces or technical change. This paper analyses the nature of the EU's current energy security problems, emphasising the increased importance of natural gas ...

Diffusion, Costs and Learning in the Development of International Gas Transmission Lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Increasing demand for clean fuels in Eurasia heightens the importance of assessing the prospects for available supplies of natural gas. Eurasia has proposed more than 60,000 kilometers of international gas transmission projects over the next 20 years ...

Gel‐Amin for Improving Extracellular Recordings of Cardiomyocytes in a 3D Microphysiological System

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work combines a conductive collagen‐based hydrogel with a laser‐cut and assembly technique to fabricate microphysiological systems that improve extracellular recordings of cardiomyocytes in 3D on microelectrode arrays. The inclusion of choline acrylate into GelMA imparts a higher electrical conductivity and improves the signal‐to‐noise ratio of on‐

Natural gas implementation in Turkey. Part 2: Natural gas pipeline

open access: yes, 2004
The Caspian Sea (CS) region's oil and gas potential has attracted much attention since the breakup of the Soviet Union. The nations in the CS region, namely Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, are already major energy producers, and production will increase with additional investment, technology, and the development of ...

Lumpy Investment in Regulated Natural Gas Pipelines: An Application of the Theory of the Second Best [PDF]

open access: yes
We address investment in regulated natural gas pipelines when investment is lumpy and the demand for gas is stochastic. This is a problem that can be solved in theory as a dynamic program, but a practical solution depends on functions and parameters that
