Results from a comprehensive GPS Network: natural gas pipeline GPS Network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth, 2012
Developing the Nabucco engineering infrastructure was the most challenging task imaginable and required state-of-the-art technologies. For this purpose, a Nabucco-Global Positioning System (GPS) Network was established. It is 762 km long. Nine-hundred and two ground control unit points were established.

Mapping Genetic Regulation of Transcription to Identify Functional Variants and Genes Associated with Pancreatic Cancer Risk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integration of a pancreatic eQTL map with a GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 82 putative functional variants and 15 genes. The association between rs11102484 and pancreatic cancer risk is observed in a total of 5699 cases and 8467 controls. The G allele of rs11102484 weakens ZNF263 binding and the silencer‐promoter interaction, thereby increasing ST7L ...

Hydrogen and Natural Gas in Pipeline Networks: A Comparative Energy Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract In this study, a Simscape model for the transmission and distribution pipeline network of natural gas, hydrogen blended into natural gas and pure hydrogen, is developed. The transmission consists of a 250 km pipelines with a diameter of 48 in and two gas compression stations. The distribution network serves six end users.

A systematic hybrid method for real-time prediction of system conditions in natural gas pipeline networks

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering, 2018
The current framework of management of natural gas pipeline systems, based on off-line simulation, is facing challenges because of the increasing complexity, uncertainty and a number of time-dependent factors.

Diversity Patterns of Domestic Herbivore Viruses in China Reveal Transmission Dynamics with Disease Management Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study performs pan‐viromic profiling of 14,529 samples from 5,710 domestic herbivores across five Chinese provinces, establishing the DhCN‐Virome (1,085,360 viral metagenomes). It reveals species/sample‐specific viromic signatures and cross‐species transmission dynamics, aiding unified disease control.

Multi‐Enzyme Mimetic Molybdenum Nitride Nanozymes Reshape Subgingival Microenvironment for Synergistic Periodontitis Therapy via ROS Regulation and Microbiome Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

Novel Model for The Energy Minimisation of Natural Gas Transmission Networks

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
Natural gas transmission through an extensive pipeline network is an energy consuming process required gas compression due to significant pressure drop. The main difficulties in optimising a natural gas transmission network are the nonconvexities of the ...

Impacts of plug-in hybrid vehicles and combined heat and power technologies on electric and gas distribution network losses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Distribution network operators (DNOs) require strategies that can offset the tradeoffs new embedded technologies have on their assets. This paper employs modelling to show that through control device manipulation, gas and electric (G&E) network operators
