Mapping Storm Surge Risk at County Level in Coastal Areas of China

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Storm surges represent a prominent and significant natural hazard in the coastal areas of China and cause substantial human and economic losses. We investigated historical storm surge events in these areas to assess the distribution of associated hazards

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Social vulnerability in a multi-hazard context: a systematic review

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2022
The interacting effects of multiple hazards pose a substantial challenge to poverty reduction and national development. Yet, social vulnerability to multiple hazards is a relatively understudied, though growing concern.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Study on the rainfall threshold of red strata landslides in Bazhong, Sichuan using Kriging interpolation method

open access: yesZhongguo dizhi zaihai yu fangzhi xuebao
The Rainfall thresholds are among the most commonly used criteria for predicting rainfall-induced landslides. However, existing empirical rainfall thresholds mainly focused on regional landslide warnings, lacking consideration for the spatial variability
