Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Airships for transporting highly volatile commodities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Large airships may prove feasible as carriers of commodities that move as gases or cryogenic liquids; buoyant gaseous cargo could be ballasted with liquid cargo.

Combinatorial Synthesis of Next Generation Water‐Soluble Quaternized N‐Halamine Oligomers with Long‐Lasting Antiviral Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A combinatorial library of dual‐functional antiviral oligomers incorporating N‐halamine and quaternary ammonium functionalities is developed for long‐lasting antiviral activity. The lead materials exhibit rapid and durable antiviral activity against SARS‐CoV‐2 variants and influenza H1N1, with 4 to 5 log reduction in viral copies at 5 mg mL−1 ...

On Phase Transition of $NH_{4}H_{2}PO_{4}$-Type Crystals by Cluster Variation Method

open access: yes, 2001
The Cluster Variation Method (CVM) is applied to the Ishibashi model for ammonium dihydrogen phosphate ($\rm NH_{4}H_{2}PO_{4}$) of a typical hydrogen bonded anti-ferroelectric crystal.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Characteristics and geological significance of escaping gas rich in natural hydrogen from pilot well BYP5 cores of lower sub-member of third member of Shahejie Formation in Zhanhua Sag, Bohai Bay Basin

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi
The pilot well BYP5 is a cored well drilled to explore the oil and gas bearing properties of the highly thermally evolved lower sub-member of the third member of the Paleogene Shahejie Formation in the Bonan deep sag of the Zhanhua Sag, Bohai Bay Basin ...

Natural Bond Orbitals and the Nature of the Hydrogen Bond

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2017
The charge-transfer component of the energy of interaction between molecules has been a controversial issue for many years. In particular, the values reported from the use of the natural bond orbital analysis of Weinhold and his co-workers are several times larger than those obtained by other methods.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Diffusion Paths for Micro Cogeneration Using Hydrogen in the Netherlands [PDF]

open access: yes
We estimate the diffusion of micro cogeneration systems (MiCoGen) using hydrogen produced from natural gas in the Netherlands for the 2000-2050 period on the basis of economical factors. The diffusion is important for the transition to a hydrogen economy
