Alternative Policy Designs to Help Farmers Select Profitable Conservation Practices
ABSTRACT Voluntary private carbon initiatives (VPCIs) promote the implementation of agricultural conservation practices that mitigate emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) via financial incentives to participating farmers. Simultaneously, an array of public policies supports the adoption of conservation practices through technical and financial ...

[Activity of the natural foci of plague in the Northern Caucasus in recent years].
During the last two years the natural foci of plague in the North Caucasus were controlled with relatively low intensity. Nevertheless, every year rodents of different species and their fleas, both infected with Yersinia pestis, were detected in all 5 foci.

[The problem of natural foci of plague: the search for ways for its resolution].
The paper deals with one of the most important problems of plague natural foci, namely the places and types of its bacillus persistence outside the parasitic system, as well as in the interepizootic period. It also discusses different hypotheses forwarded on the basis of field observations and experimental findings.

Back Again to the Future: A New Era for Cerebroprotection
Cerebroprotection is a fresh framework for designing neurological therapy that targets glia and vascular cells, in addition to neurons. In the future, successful cerebroprotection will involve targeting all elements of the neurovascular unit. Preclinical trials must include functional outcomes, as well as lesion morphometry.

A Cu‐Ni‐W tri‐component catalyst enables efficient nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion under pulsed electrolysis. Combined experimental and theoretical studies attribute its performance to component synergism and regulated intermediates. Its facile adaptation for glycerol valorization to formic acid underscores a versatile system design concept, advancing ...
