Flow of wet natural pozzolana

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2009
We present experimental results on the flow and stability conditions for natural pozzolana, a natural volcanic sand widely used in concrete production. We measured different angles involved in equilibrium conditions for sand piles and relate them to the flux parameters necessary to produce a silo evacuation.

Residual capability of alkali binding by hydrated pozzolanic cements in long-service concrete structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
An experimental procedure was developed and applied to cement pastes made with two different pozzolanic cements (CEM IV/B (P) and CEM IV/B (V)) in order to ascertain the existence of a residual capability of alkali binding by long-term hydrated ...

Performance of Italian zeolitic tuffs and pozzolana in 2-chlorophenol removal from contaminated groundwater. Lab-scale experience [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The physical and chemical properties of zeolites and the availability of localized deposits of naturally occurring zeolitized tuffs and pozzolana, make them desirable for and applicable to the remediation of contaminated groundwater. This paper documents

Modeling the cementitious effect of the Pozzolana on the compressive strength of concrete

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2018
The natural Pozzolana is a siliceous material (SiO2) that reacts with the calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 produced during the hydration period of the cement; this inherent feature increases the cementitious property of the grout and improves the compressive ...

Stabilization of Algerian Clayey Soils with Natural Pozzolana and Lime

open access: yesPeriodica Polytechnica Civil Engineering, 2017
Cohesive soils with a high plasticity index present difficulties in construction operations because they usually contain expansive clay minerals. However, the engineering properties of soils can be improved by different techniques. The aim of this paper is to study the effect of using lime, natural pozzolana or a combination of both lime and natural ...
