Natural rubber: leather composites [PDF]
Leather is a fibrous protein consisting of collagen in a three dimensionally crosslinked network. Chrome tanning of leather improves the appearance of leather but at the same time emits both solid and liquid chrome leather wastes. Scrap rubber recycling using untreated and neutralized leather fibrous particles in natural rubber has been studied ...

The study investigates 3D‐printed polylactic acid (PLA) composites with biodegradable bamboo and jute powder fillers. Mechanical, thermal, structural properties, and rheological behavior are discussed to evaluate composite performance. Morphological characterization indicates uniform dispersion and adhesion of the fillers in the PLA matrix with the ...

Negative energy elasticity in a rubberlike gel [PDF]
Rubber elasticity is the archetype of the entropic force emerging from the second law of thermodynamics; numerous experimental and theoretical studies on natural and synthetic rubbers have shown that the elasticity originates mostly from entropy change with deformation.

Temperature dependence of elastocaloric effect in natural rubber [PDF]
The temperature dependence of the elastocaloric (eC) effect in natural rubber (NR) is studied adiabatically and isothermally. A broad temperature span for eC effect from 0 oC to 49 oC is observed. The maximum adiabatic temperature change ({\Delta}T) is 12 K at strain of 6 and occurs at 10 oC.

Reinforcement of natural rubber by precipitated silica: the influence of processing temperature [PDF]
The thermal history and in particular the mixing dump temperature is a parameter of paramount importance in mixing rubber and silica with a silane coupling agent in order to achieve proper silanization of silica and to avoid premature scorch reactions ...
