Engineered surface strategies to manage dental implant‐related infections

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract When exposed to the oral environment, dental implants, like natural surfaces, become substrates for microbial adhesion and accumulation, often leading to implant‐related infections—one of the main causes of implant failure. These failures impose significant costs on patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems.

Understanding exosomes in diabetic wound healing

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Diabetic wounds signify a major complication of diabetes mellitus, characterized by chronic inflammation, compromised angiogenesis, and high risk of infection, amputation, and mortality. Contemporary therapies remain limited in efficacy and durability.

Rethinking microtidal systems: Tidal signatures in the fluvial deposits of the Po River, Italy

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In microtidally influenced rivers, tides are generally assumed to leave virtually no signatures in the sedimentary record. However, this hypothesis has been surprisingly poorly tested using modern river analogues, which provide an opportunity to assess whether sedimentary signatures of microtidal regimes can develop in rivers that lack ...

Assessing Distinctive Physiochemical Properties of Geopolymers, Their Green Development and Utilization in Wastewater Treatment

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
This review examines the physicochemical properties of geopolymers, focusing on the effects of calcium content, heavy metal impurities and acid activation. It distinguishes geopolymers from other alkali‐activated materials based on structure and synthesis precursors. Their use as water treatment adsorbents is compared with ceramic filters, highlighting

Electrified Carbon‐Neutral Methanol Production Pathways: A Multiscale Techno‐Economic‐Environmental Assessment Based on the UK Energy System

open access: yesAdvanced Chemical Engineering, Volume 1, Issue 2, December 2026.
A two‐scale framework bridges process‐level physics and system‐level decision‐making for electrified green methanol production. Replacing computationally demanding reactor simulations with an interpretable symbolic‐regression surrogate enables rapid techno‐economic and life‐cycle assessment. The framework reveals how process performance propagates into

Cu‐ERI Zeolite Catalysts With Tailored Properties for the Removal of N‐Containing Compounds

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 21, 3 November 2026.
The study found that Cu‐ERI zeolites, especially Cu‐ERI_2, show strong low‐temperature NH3‐SCR‐DeNOx activity and high N2 selectivity because they contain highly active, easily reducible Cu2+ species; Cu‐ERI_2 also facilitates NH3 activation and preferentially consumes NH3 adsorbed on Brønsted acid sites during NO reduction.
