Measuring genetic relatedness in natural populations: Methodology
Theoretical Population Biology, 1982Abstract The estimation of relatedness within social groups, such as the colonies of a population of social insects, is an important field for evaluating hypotheses concerning the evolution and maintenance of social behaviour. The methodology of this estimation from genetic data in the absence of pedigree information has been poorly understood; we ...

Using fine-scale relatedness to infer natural enemy movement
Biological Control, 2021Abstract Natural enemies often move among habitats to track prey and resources. However, the small size of many natural enemies makes it difficult to observe such movements.

On the Nature of Human Relatedness
International Forum of Psychoanalysis, 1994Abstract Freuds discussion of the “oceanic feeling” in The Civilization and its Discontents is reviewed. An alternative to Freud's genetic interpretation is suggested: a perception by the human mind of a basic aspect of human relatedness. David Bohm's implicate order, Kelman's kairos and communing and Bion's transformation in O and faith are discussed ...
