Fibroblast Activation Protein Promotes Thoracic Aortic Dissection via PLAUR/ITGB1‐Mediated Pro‐inflammatory Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that FAP promotes thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) through a nonenzymatic mechanism involving fibroblast‐macrophage crosstalk via the FAP/PLAUR/ITGB1/FAK axis. Targeting this pathway might offer a promising therapeutic strategy for TAD.

Free Vibration Analysis of Functionally Graded Porous Doubly-Curved Shells Based on the First-Order Shear Deformation Theory

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
Due to some technical issues that can appear during the manufacturing process of Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs), it can be extremely difficult to produce perfect materials. Indeed, one of the biggest problems is the presence of porosities. For this

Magnetic and Crystal Symmetry Control on Spin Hall Conductivity in Altermagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Crystal structures and schematic illustrations of the spin Hall effect (SHE) in altermagnets. High‐symmetry RuO2 exhibits conventional SHE, while tilted RuO2 shows trivial unconventional SHE (USHE) caused by structural tilting. CrSb and MnTe, with reduced magnetic symmetry, display intrinsic USHE arising from symmetry‐driven spin–momentum locking ...

Three-dimensional finite element analysis of acoustic instability of solid propellant rocket motors [PDF]

open access: yes
A three dimensional finite element solution of the acoustic vibration problem in a solid propellant rocket motor is presented. The solution yields the natural circular frequencies of vibration and the corresponding acoustic pressure mode shapes ...

Manifold Solutions to Navier–Stokes Equations

open access: yes
We have developed dynamic manifold solutions for the Navier-Stokes equations using an extension of differential geometry called the calculus for moving surfaces. Specifically, we have shown that the geometric solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations can take the form of fluctuating spheres, constant mean curvature surfaces, generic wave equations for ...

CRISPLD2 Attenuates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration by Suppressing Oxidative Stress‐Induced Ferroptosis through the miR‐548I‐IL17A Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies CRISPLD2 as a key protector against IVDD. By regulating ferroptosis through the CRISPLD2–miR‐548I–IL17A axis, CRISPLD2 maintains NPCs homeostasis and reduces oxidative stress. Restoring CRISPLD2 expression effectively alleviates disc degeneration and highlights a promising therapeutic strategy for discogenic low back pain ...

A research program to reduce interior noise in general aviation airplanes: Noise reduction through a cavity-backed flexible plate [PDF]

open access: yes
A prediction method is reported for noise reduction through a cavity-backed panel. The analysis takes into account only cavity modes in one direction. The results of this analysis were to find the effect of acoustic stiffness of a backing cavity on the ...
