Diffusion of Nb in Nb-H Alloys
Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2005Self-diffusion coefficient of 95Nb in NbHx alloys (x=0.05,0.25 and 0.3) has been determined in the temperature range from 823 to 1323 K by using a serial sputter-microsectioning technique. The self-diffusion coefficient of Nb in the NbHx alloys are larger than that in Nb, suggesting that vacancies are formed by hydrogen dissolution, that is, the ...

Tunnel barrier growth dynamics of Nb/AlOxAl/Nb and Nb/A1NxAl/Nb Josephson junctions
Physica C: Superconductivity, 1995The growth of very thin aluminum oxide and aluminum nitride tunnel barriers on top of an about 7 nm aluminum layer is deduced by measurements of the reflectivity change of a laser beam due to the decrease of the aluminum laser thickness. Within the first seconds of the process thermal aluminum oxide grows much faster than aluminum nitride in a nitrogen

Anomalous Proximity Effect in the Nb-BiSb-Nb Junctions
Physical Review Letters, 1996An anomalous proximity effect was observed in coplanar Nb-BiSb-Nb junctions. The effect consists of a considerable increase of the critical current with an increase in the distance between the superconducting electrodes. The effect is explained by the quantum character of Cooper pair transport through the normal region.

Overdamped Nb∕Al–AlOx∕Nb Josephson junctions
Applied Physics Letters, 2005We report the fabrication and characterization of overdamped Nb∕Al–AlOx∕Nb superconductor–insulator–superconductor Josephson junction whose fabrication process derives from that of the well-known hysteretic junctions. These junctions are an intermediate state between the superconductor–normal metal–superconductor and the superconductor–insulator ...

Microstructures of Nb−26Ti-48Al + (Nb, Ti)B
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1992Abstract The microstructures of Nb–26at.%Ti–48at.%Al + 10vol.%(Nb0.67,Ti0.33)B prior to and after creep testing were studied by transmission electron microscopy. The matrix of this alloy exhibits a γ + σtwo-phase structure. The axis of an (Nb0.67,Ti0.33)B whisker was [010] which was found to be parallel to 〈011〉γ. Twins and 1/2[110] dislocations were

Electronic properties of Nb and H-treated Nb surfaces
Physical Review B, 1987Clean Nb and H-treated Nb surfaces are studied using angle-resolved photoemission. Intrinsic surface states and hydrogen-induced states are characterized along the \ensuremath{\Gamma}\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}--X\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} direction of the two-dimensional Brillouin zone. Hydrogen-induced states exhibit reversible
