Invar effect in n-Nb2O5, αht-Nb2O5, and L-Nb2O5

Crystallography Reports, 2009
An X-ray diffraction analysis of two commercial sets of niobium pentaoxide (Nb2O5) of Nbo-Pt grade has been performed. Each set reveals the coexistence of three modifications: n-Nb2O5, αht-Nb2O5, and L-Nb2O5. Anomalous behavior in the structural characteristics, with the occurrence of plateaus upon heating (the invar effect), is established for each ...

Morphological evolution of Nb2O5 in a solvothermal reaction: From Nb2O5 grains to Nb2O5 nanorods and hexagonal Nb2O5 nanoplatelets

Journal of Wuhan University of Technology-Mater. Sci. Ed., 2009
Novel Nb2O5 nanorods and polygonal Nb2O5 platelets were generated by a simple solvothermal technique. The geometry evolution of the resultant Nb2O5 from amorphous nanoparticles to crystallized particles, from polygonal platelets to well-elongated nanorods was been studied in detail.

Nb2O5–TeO2 and Nb2O5–Li2O–TeO2 glasses: Evaluation of elastic properties

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2022
Abstract Elastic properties of xNb2O5–(1-x)TeO2 and 0.5xNb2O5–0.5xLi2O–(1-x)TeO2 glass systems were evaluated to understand the structural role of Nb2O5 and Li2O in the tellurite network. A correlation between elastic moduli and estimated compositional parameters has-been established on the basis of the bond compression model, Makishima-Mackenzie's ...

Raman investigations of NH3 adsorption on TiO2, Nb2O5, and Nb2O5/TiO2

Catalysis Letters, 1994
A study has been carried out of the interactions of NH3 with TiO2, Nb2O5, and Nb2O5/TiO2. Raman spectroscopy was used to characterize the structure of the adsorbed NH3 and perturbations of species present at the surface of the adsorbent. On each oxide, NH3 adsorbs predominantly at Lewis acid sites.

Use of amorphous Nb2O5 and Nb2O5/Al2O3 as acid catalysts for the dehydration of xylose to furfural

Reaction Kinetics, Mechanisms and Catalysis, 2021
This work compared the catalytic performance of the amorphous Nb2O5 (NB) and 12 wt% Nb2O5/Al2O3 (NB-AL) catalysts for the xylose dehydration to furfural carried out for 6 h at 140 and 160 °C using water or a 1:0.8 (v/v) water/isopropanol mixture as solvents.

Phase transitions of shock-compressed T−Nb2O5 and H−Nb2O5

Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1971
1. The effect of dynamic pressures with amplitudes extending from 65 to 1800 kbar on two modifications of niobium pentoxide, T−Nb2O5 and H−Nb2O5, has been studied. It is shown that shock compression can effect transitions in either direction. 2.

Ruthenium–Niobia Interaction in Nb2O5-Supported and Nb2O5-Modified Ru Catalysts

Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1994
Abstract The effect of H2 reduction treatments on H2 chemisorption, ethane hydrogenolysis, and CO hydrogenation over Nb2O5-supported and Nb2O5-modified Ru catalysts has been studied to elucidate the nature of the metal-oxide interaction, and the results are compared with those of a SiO2-supported Ru catalyst.

Activity and acidity of Nb2O5-MoO3 and Nb2O5-WO3 in the Friedel-Crafts alkylation

Catalysis Today, 2006
Abstract Nb2O5 loaded on the supports and mixed with oxides was studied to investigate the activity and acidity for Friedel-Crafts benzylation of anisole. From the study on the loaded catalysts, a preliminary conclusion for the selection of metal oxide was obtained; namely, such an acidic oxide as silica was suitable for the support of Nb2O5.
