Nature of correlations in the atomic limit of the boson fermion model

open access: yes, 2003
Using the equation of motion technique for Green's functions we derive the exact solution of the boson fermion model in the atomic limit. Both (fermion and boson) subsystems are characterised by the effective three level excitation spectra.

Combination of Narrow-band Imaging and Autofluorescence Imaging
Videobronchoscopy in the Assessment of Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2013
Background and objective Narrow-band imaging (NBI) and autofluorescence imaging (AFI) are new bronchoscopy technologies that are important in lung cancer diagnosis.

Lung Biopsies in Patients Referred for Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation: Diagnostic Accuracy, Diagnostic Yield, and Clinical Utility

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
Among patients referred for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation with pulmonary opacities, lung biopsy provided a diagnosis in 72% of procedures and altered management in 51%. Despite a 7% major complication rate, lung biopsy frequently clarified noninfectious etiologies when bronchoscopy was inconclusive.

Horses on the Menu: Patterns and Drivers of Free‐Ranging Horse Consumption by Iberian Wolves

open access: yesMammal Review, Volume 56, Issue 2, June 2026.
Free‐ranging mountain ponies can comprise most of the Iberian wolf diet. Through a meta‐analysis of 137 studies, we show that horse consumption is shaped by prey availability, topography and human density, often surpassing wild and domestic ungulates and potentially serving as a buffer for livestock predation.

Virtual NBI image synthesis using stable diffusion for enhanced recognition of early gastric cancer: a technical validation study

open access: yesAnnals of Medicine
Background Narrow band imaging (NBI) can assist endoscopists in detecting early gastric cancer (EGC) more easily, but its widespread use is hindered by economic cost and technical property rights. We aim to realize the conversion of white light endoscopy

Opportunities for the U.S. Geological Survey's National Seismic Hazard Model to Improve Seismic Risk Assessment of Critical Infrastructure

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 42, Issue 2, May 2026.
As fragility and risk modeling techniques and computational capabilities evolve, complemented by moving toward more routine and systematic seismic risk assessment of all buildings and critical infrastructure, the authors pose a few critical questions to investigate how the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Seismic Hazard Models (NSHMs) can be used

Prognostic Impact of Anterior Commissure Involvement on Treatment Failure in Early‐Stage Glottic Carcinoma Treated With Definitive Radiotherapy: A Univariate and Multivariate Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 5, Page 1383-1390, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Early‐stage glottic carcinoma is characterized by high cure rate, but about 10% of patients still develop local recurrence after radiotherapy (RT). Although advances in local therapies have markedly improved larynx preservation, anterior commissure involvement (ACI) may worsen outcomes yet remains insufficient to fully guide ...

Evaluate Sequential Interventions for Adaptive Water Management in Large River Basins

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Integrated River Basin Management (IRBM) and Adaptive Water Management (AWM) have been widely promoted as guiding principles, yet their practical realization at the basin scale remains difficult and underutilized. Sequential Interventions (SIs), stepwise actions applied in a predefined sequence at designated decision points, offer a practical ...

High‐Mobility and Low‐Voltage Top‐Gate Transistors Comprising an InSnO–InSnWO Channel Layer and a Polymethyl Methacrylate Dielectric Layer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 8, 21 April 2026.
The top‐gate thin film transistors (TFTs) combining the advantages of both the inorganic InSnWO channel layer and the organic polymethyl methacrylate dielectric layer were prepared. The optimized TFTs exhibit excellent performance, including a high mobility (> 60 cm2 V−1 s−1), a low threshold voltage (< 0.50 V; positive value), and robust stabilities ...

Higher-derivative gauge interactions of Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson theory in N=1 superspace

open access: yes, 2011
We study the structure of the gauge sector of the Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson (BLG) theory in the form proposed by van Raamsdonk, adapted to 3D, N=1 superspace.
