The solid-solubility of oxygen in Nb and Nb-rich, Nb-Hf, Nb-Mo and Nb-W alloys
Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1967Abstract By comparison with oxygen and nitrogen, the amount of carbon which can be taken into interstitial solid solution in Nb and Nb-rich Nb-Hf, Nb-Mo and Nb-W alloys is very small. Over the temperature range 1600°–2180°C the solid-solubility limit of carbon in niobium is about 0.55 at.%, and this is reduced by the alloying elements Hf and Mo.

The Diversification of PlantNBS-LRRDefense Genes Directs the Evolution of MicroRNAs That Target Them
High expression of plant nucleotide binding site leucine-rich repeat (NBS-LRR) defense genes is often lethal to plant cells, a phenotype perhaps associated with fitness costs. Plants implement several mechanisms to control the transcript level of NBS-LRR

Hydrogen in Nb/Hf/Nb and Nb/Ti/Nb thin films
Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1991Abstract Thin films with layer sequences Nb/Hf/Nb and Nb/Ti/Nb/Au were prepared by electron-beam evaporation in ultrahigh vacuum. The interfaces were characterized by measuring the momentary surface properties by low energy electron diffraction and Auger electron spectroscopy after various evaporation steps.
