Photo‐Gain Effect in κ‐Ga2O3 UV‐C Photoresistors Induced by Trapping of Photogenerated Holes

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), Volume 263, Issue 1, January 2026.
The “photo‐gain effect” amplifying the DC photocurrent of κ‐Ga2O3 UV‐C photoresistors is analyzed by means of 2D numerical simulations and linked to the capture of photogenerated holes by deep donor levels, probably associated with oxygen vacancies.

Soft‐Layered Composites with Wrinkling‐Activated Multi‐Linear Elastic Behavior, Stress Mitigation, and Enhanced Strain Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 22, November 2025.
In this study, exciting new bi‐/multi‐linear elastic behavior of soft elastic composites that accompany the activation of wrinkling in the embedded interfacial layers is analyzed. The new features and performance of these composite materials, including dramatic enhancements in energy storage, can be tailored by the concentration of interfacial layers ...

Controlling the Oxygen Content in Sn‐Doped In2O3 Thin Films by Partially Reactive Co‐Sputtering

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, Volume 19, Issue 11, November 2025.
To improve the electrical properties by reducing the oxygen content in transparent conductive Sn‐doped In2O3 thin films, partially reactive co‐sputtering from an undoped In2O3 target and a metallic Sn target is employed. While the charge‐carrier concentration of the polycrystalline samples approaches values of epitaxial films, it is stated to be ...

Comparative Analysis of Hydrogen Production and Economic Feasibility: Direct versus Indirect Coupling of Photovoltaic Systems with Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
This article examines the efficiency and cost‐effectiveness of green hydrogen production strategies: direct and indirect, with and without battery. Results show that the indirect configuration with battery yields the highest hydrogen production and profitability. The study discusses technical, energetic, and economic trade‐offs, providing insights into
