SOLID MODELLING FOR NC MACHINING ANIMATION
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992Abstract Inevitable part of CIM environment is modelling, simulation and animation of objects, processes and systems. Computer animation of the NC machining represents the actual tendencies in visual verification of NC programs. In the paper a concept of NC milling PC animation is presented by introducing its principal ideas and application aspects ...

NC Machining Algorithms for CSG Solids
13th Design Automation Conference: Volume 1 — Design Methods, Computer Graphics, and Expert Systems, 1987Abstract This paper presents two algorithms for NC (Numerical Control) machining of engineering parts defined as a CSG (Constructive Solid Geometry) (1) model. The algorithms are respectively for automatically roughing out the approximate shape using octree and quadtree encoding techniques and for machining the final shape with fine cuts.

Estimation of NC machining time using NC block distribution for sculptured surface machining
Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, 2006Abstract The estimation of NC machining time is of importance because it provides manufacturing engineers with information to accurately predict the productivity of an NC machine, as well as its production schedule. NC programs contain various machining information, such as tool positions, feed and speed rates, and other machine instructions. Nominal

NC controller for surface machining
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 1992The manufacture of parametrically defined B-spline and other types of surfaces suffers from a number of drawbacks because the tool-positioning methods used do not have interference-checking capabilities and the machine controller lacks the computing power to do tool positioning in real time.
