Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) Does Exactly What It Should Do When Applied Properly: A Reply to a Comment on NCA* [PDF]

open access: yesSociological Methods and Research, 2021
There are two problems with the comment of Thiem about necessary condition analysis (NCA): First, it is based on wrong assumptions about what NCA aims to do. Second, it applies NCA incorrectly.

Copolymerization of sarcosine‐NCA and l‐leucine‐NCA or l‐phenylalanine‐NCA

Makromolekulare Chemie. Macromolecular Symposia, 1991
AbstractCopolymerizations of sarcosine‐NCA (Sar‐NCA) with leucine‐NCA (Leu‐NCA) or phenylalanine NCA (Phe‐NCA) were conducted under five different reaction conditions. Benzylamine, triethylamine, pyridine and sodium methoxide (NaOMe) were used as initiators.

High‐Nickel NMA: A Cobalt‐Free Alternative to NMC and NCA Cathodes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

Advances in Materials, 2020
High‐nickel LiNi1−x−yMnxCoyO2 (NMC) and LiNi1−x−yCoxAlyO2 (NCA) are the cathode materials of choice for next‐generation high‐energy lithium‐ion batteries.

Which of the nickel-rich NCM and NCA is structurally superior as a cathode material for lithium-ion batteries?

Journal of Materials Chemistry A, 2021
As two typical layered nickel-rich ternary cathode materials, NCA and NCM are expected to be commercialized in lithium-ion batteries. However, NCA is more stable than NCM, because the structural stability of Al doped in the nickel-rich layered oxide is ...

Capacity Fading of Ni-Rich NCA Cathodes: Effect of Microcracking Extent

ACS Energy Letters, 2019
Ni-rich Li[Ni1–x–yCoxAly]O2 (NCA) cathodes (1 – x – y = 0.8, 0.88, and 0.95) are synthesized to investigate the capacity fading mechanism of Ni-rich NCA cathodes.

Optimization of B2O3 coating process for NCA cathodes to achieve long-term stability for application in lithium ion batteries

, 2021
Ni-rich cathodes exhibit rapid capacity degradation upon cycling; hence, the development of Ni-rich cathode materials with a stable electrochemical performance for use in next-generation lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are extremely challenging.

Polymerization of DL‐alanine NCA and L‐alanine NCA

Journal of Polymer Science Part A-1: Polymer Chemistry, 1967
AbstractThe polymerization of N‐carboxy‐DL‐alanine anhydride and N‐carboxy‐L‐alanine anhydride were carried out in various solvents such as acetonitrile, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and nitrobenzene. The x‐ray diffraction diagram and the infrared spectra of the polymers of DL‐ and L‐alanine were obtained. The polypeptides obtained in acetonitrile and in

Primary Amine‐Initiated Polymerizations of Alanine‐NCA and Sarcosine‐NCA

Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 2004
AbstractSummary: Sarcosine‐N‐carboxyanhydride (Sar‐NCA), L‐alanine‐NCA and D,L‐alanine‐NCA were polymerized with benzylamine as initiator in three different solvents: dichloromethane (CH2Cl2), 1,4‐dioxane and dimethylformamide (DMF). The isolated polyaminoacids were characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and MALDI‐TOF mass spectrometry.
