Nd:YAG Long Lasers

Applied Optics, 1974
The oscillation characteristics and dynamics of Nd:YAG long lasers are described. Nd:YAG laser cavities ranging in length from 1 m to over 6.3 km were constructed and operated. The development of laser oscillation, power output, active angular fields, and resonances of the circulating optical flux were monitored.

Frequency-modulated Nd:YAG laser

Optics Letters, 1991
A frequency-modulated, single-mode Nd:YAG laser has been constructed that tunes up to 12 GHz. The laser incorporates a LiTaO(3) electro-optic phase modulator with acoustic damping to provide a tuning sensitivity of 12 MHz/V and linear voltage-to-frequency conversion. A frequency excursion of 1.2 GHz has been generated with a rise time of 0.6 ns.

Laparoscopic Myolysis with the Nd:YAG Laser

Journal of Gynecologic Surgery, 1993
Laparoscopic myomectomy can be carried out in cases of subserosal and intramural fibroids. Laparoscopic myolysis can be proposed as an alternative to laparoscopic myomectomy in cases of large or multiple intramural fibroids in women aged over 40 or not desiring to bear more children but wishing to avoid a future hysterectomy.

Monolithic Nd:YAG fiber laser

Optics Letters, 1986
We report on a monolithic resonator single-crystal Nd:YAG fiber laser. The laser resonator structure is simply formed by the fiber waveguide and the polished and coated fiber endfaces. The fiber oscillator is 6.5 mm long with a mean diameter of 47 μm. The lowest-order spatial mode for such a fiber has a beam waist of 15 μm, implying a Rayleigh length ...

The Nd:YAG laser in caries removal

British Dental Journal, 1994
This paper shows how a laser can be used in the various stages of caries removal prior to the placement of a glass-ionomer restoration. In the future the laser may prove to be a valuable tool in enabling the dentist to perform surgical procedures with maximum comfort to the patient.

The Nd:YAG Laser Treatment of Hemangioma

Journal of Clinical Laser Medicine & Surgery, 1994
An Nd:YAG laser was used in the treatment of 160 patients with hemangioma from January 1989 to January 1993. Irradiance was between 800 and 1600 W/cm 2 with energy between 400 and 1600 J/cm 2. The best results with almost total restoration were obtained in 21 of the 160 patients (13%).
